The sea glass I carry is all manufactured. It's beautiful, matted glass. The matting won't come off; it's not a coating. The colors are saturated and beautiful and you can get shapes with manufactured sea glass you won't see in nature. (The beach is so good about breaking glass up into tiny pieces!) I've always told my customers that if you like the color and the bead is great, buy it. Work with it. What matters in the end is that you're getting something YOU like!

These are pretty beach glass buttons - unfortunately they're darker in person than they appear online, but I'm keeping them because I can perhaps use them for another project - they won't work for this one. But they're nice buttons.
